The world premiere of Marvel Studios’ latest comic book adaptation, ‘Eternals’, took place on Monday. The early reviews are pouring in on social media. Kevin Feige was not joking when he said this film would ‘redefine the Marvel Cinematic Universe entirely’.
Academy-award winning director Chloe Zhao join by her diverse cast including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, Don Lee, Brian Tyree Henry, Lia McHugh, Lauren Ridloff, and Kumail Nanjiani for the glitzy and glamours red carpet event leading up to the iconic Dolby theatre.
The world premiere, the first wave of spoiler-free reviews comes in on social media with critics raving about the ‘visual masterpiece’.Consider that the first time the immortals introduce themselves into the MCU, one critic said, “I saw a movie tonight. #Eternals is cool as hell. Drags a bit in act 2 but I went in knowing nothing about this movie and walked out a fan.”
Going by the tweets that came in, it can assure that ‘Eternals’ is unlike any other Marvel film we have seen so far. With some calling it the best since ‘Avengers’, others agreed it was ‘epic in every sense of the word’.
“Eternals is epic in every sense of the word. It’s a story that is more massive but simultaneously more down-to-earth than the MCU has ever been. The passion everyone involve in this movie is present in every scene and it needs to see on the biggest screen you can find,” said a Twitter user.
Another added, “Eternals, wow! A lot to unpack. If Marvel movies are a Venn diagram — variations within that overlap — this movie is off the charts. Hands down the most different of any of their films.”
“Haven’t felt this giddy after a movie since The Avengers. Goosebumps. Incredible action, both planetary & interstellar, and looks GORGEOUS. Most importantly, it feels like a live-action anime! Can’t wait to talk about Makkari & Kingo! Those end credits!” another said.
‘Eternals’ was delayed by a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is slated to release worldwide on November 5. The film will hit Indian screens in time for the Diwali weekend.
